Planning a Running Vacation to China for Beijing Races
All runners planning a vacation to run in the races organised by The Great Wall Marathon® are required to obtain entry into their chosen event within one of the travel packages offered by “Official Agents”. This is the only way to travel and take part in running a half marathon or marathon on The Great Wall of China.
Canadian runners have a choice of two official agents for The Great Wall Marathon®:

- DaneTour
For the 2008 event, DaneTour offered runners from Canada fourteen choices of an escorted itinerary to run in the Great Wall events in Tianjin Province China. Runners and their companions could select from three star to five star accommodation and sightseeing tours including Beijing Opera, Forbidden City and Ming Tombs with prices ranging from $1190 to $2310.

For British runners, the company 2:09 Events can make arrangements for running The Great Wall Marathon®. The 2:09 Events Full Package in a single room for the 2009 races costs £1795. This package includes race entry accommodation, sightseeing and flights with departure from London Heathrow (BA39 16.35) on Monday May 11, 2009 to Beijing and return on a British Airways flight from Beijing Airport on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at 11.25.
Travelling Fit are the only official agent for runners living in Australia. Travellers who like to make independent plans for their vacations can add on to an “Official Agents” itinerary with visits to Hong Kong or within China.
All international runners must check with their government's health and security departments about recommended vaccinations for travel to the overseas destination, visa arrangements and to be informed of the latest Travel Warnings.
